Wakefield make new signing

By JOHN DAVIDSON

Wakefield Trinity have made a new signing for the 2020 Super League season.

Wakefield have agreed a two-year deal with Salford Red Devils hooker Josh Wood.

Twenty-three year old Wood can play in the halves as well as at hooker.

He came through Salford’s junior ranks and debuted for the club in Super League in 2015.

Wood has scored five tries in 47 career appearances for the Red Devils.

The utility has also had brief spells on loan at North Wales Crusaders, Halifax and Swinton.

This season Wood has only made three appearances for Salford with hookers Logan Tomkins and Joey Lussick ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Wigan-born player will replace departing rake Tyler Randell at Belle Vue.
