Leeds coach Rohan Smith rued his team’s errors and discipline after they fell 22-12 to Salford.
The Rhinos were largely dominated by a Red Devils side at Headingley.
“We had a few rushes of blood defensively that hurt us,” Smith said.
“[But] We played a good team. The errors hurt us and we didn’t put enough pressure on Salford.
“The sin-binning [of Blake Austin] was very costly. It appeared to me that it was a sin bin.
“I liked how we went about our team attack today. It was more in the contact that we didn’t finish up the play. We need to tidy that up.
“Defensively, I thought we handled a lot of what they threw at us. But the penalties in front of the post cost us.
“It’s hard to understand some of it [the penalties].”
Smith confirmed Jack Sinfield will miss next week after failed his head test.
“Jack has got a bit of a banged up face but he’s feeling fine,” he said.
“It was a decent hit to the face. It rules him out for next week.”
