“MAY you live interesting times”, so the old saying goes.

Well, we certainly are. The world is going into lockdown and self-isolation as uncertainty grows by the hour, let alone the day.

We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, or what the future holds.

It’s a time that probably no one has experienced on a similar mass scale since the second World War, or maybe the Spanish Influenza after the first World War.

It’s a worrying time for everyone.

Rugby league, just like everything else, has shutdown. The NRL is still playing behind closed doors, but that is likely to change very soon.

How long this crisis goes on for, how long the pandemic lasts, no one knows.

The impact could be far-reaching and felt for years.

But while it does, we will keep going. We will keep providing you with the best content we can, the best stories we can put together.

We will keep writing, keep conducting interviews, keep asking questions and keep providing a quality outlet for rugby league journalism.

We have ideas in the bag and pieces that should both entertain and inform.

While the news may be rarer, and the gossip smaller, there is still cope for opinion, analysis, features and introspection.

We’ll keep providing it.

This period will be extremely tough for rugby league, a sport not flush with large cash reserves or finances.

But the code is resilient and tough, and so are its people. It won’t die off.

Rugby league has survived a bloody birth from rugby union, attacks from other sports, discrimination, two World Wars, self-sabotage, corruption and everything else in the past 125 years. And yet still it endures.

And it will once this Coronavirus pandemic ends.

It may be very different, and the landscape of clubs may be significanrly altered, but in some way or form it will continue.
