Sky Sports is flying Michael Buffer to the UK to shoot a special promo for the historic Super League game in Las Vegas between Warrington and Wigan.

The two English clubs will meet as part of the bill at the Allegiant Stadium in March.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands Buffer will be flying out to England specifically to feature in a TV ad and promotional material spruiking the Wigan vs Warrington clash next month.

Buffer, of ‘Let’s get ready to rumble’ fame, is an iconic American ring announcer for boxing, wrestling and the NFL. Wigan have already announced that the 80-year-old will be at the Warriors’ round one clash against Leigh at the Brick Community Stadium, where he will ‘marry’ two rugby league fans.

But it is believed Buffer will involved in much more and featured heavily in video promotions for the Las Vegas game on Sky, which will be shot next week.

Sources have told rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads that Sky is investing serious money in marketing the Las Vegas event.

The broadcaster is excited about the potential for the push into America and is putting resource behind it to ensure it is a success.

Sky have been criticised in the past by some for not promoting rugby league more, but the TV network is particularly committed to the Las Vegas venture.
