Jordan Rapana believes former Canberra Raiders team-mare Aidan Sezer is in the form of his life as one of the driving forces behind Hull FC’s flying start to the 2025 season.
The Black and Whites moved up to second in the Betfred Super League following a 24-14 victory away to Castleford Tigers in Thursday’s Round 6 opener, which included Sezer scoring a try and providing his eighth assist of the league campaign, along with kicking four goals.
The 33-year-old is currently third in the Man of Steel standings as well and fellow off-season recruit Rapana hailed the half-back’s impact.

“I played with Aidan at Canberra, but this is by far the best I’ve seen him play,” Rapana told BBC 5 Live Sports Extra.
“He’s playing with a lot of confidence, as is John Asiata, and it’s just awesome.”
As well as being among the early front-runners after finishing 11th in Super League, Hull FC are through to the Betfred Challenge Cup quarter-finals after a stunning comeback to dethrone holders Wigan Warriors in the last round.
They now face a huge derby clash with fierce cross-city rivals and Super League leaders Hull KR in next Saturday at the MKM Stadium.
The Robins have overtaken Hull FC as the leading lights on Humberside in recent seasons after reaching the Challenge Cup final in 2023 and a first Grand Final last year.
But Rapana feels the infusion of experience as part the club’s off-season recruitment is helping raise the West Hull club back to the heights expected of them.
“I know it feels like we’re getting to the end of our careers and getting quite old, but that competitiveness is something we’ve driven here and it’s rubbing off on the young boys,” Rapana said.
“That was our goal from Round 1, to improve each week and it’s still only Round 6 so we’ve got a long way to go.
“I know it’s a cliche, but we are taking each week as it comes.”
