Davy Litten has warned not to expect a repeat of his kicking trickery over fear of incurring Hull FC head coach John Cartwright’s wrath.
The centre, along with winger Tom Briscoe, scored two tries in Saturday’s 28-16 win away to Warrington Wolves which sent the Black and Whites second in the Betfred Super League.
One of those just before half time saw Litten take a chance with a kick close to Warrington’s line which took a deflection off an opponent and sat up perfectly for him to regather the ball to score, although he admitted he expected Cartwright would have been fuming if it had not worked out.

“I’m sure if it didn’t come off, Carty would have been clipping me around the head – but it did come off,” Litten told BBC Radio Humberside.
“The gap opened up and I just kicked it. You don’t really think about it in the moment, but it’s worked out for me.
“It’s come off the back of that hard work we did in the first half and I think if it had fallen to anyone they would have score.
“I back myself and that’s the way it is, but I’m sure I won’t be trying it much more or he’ll be bollocking me still.”
All joking aside, Cartwright could not be happier with the performances the 21-year-old has been producing since returning to the team last month after a spell out injured.
“He’s an enourmous potential and he’s doing everything right at the moment,” Cartwright told BBC Radio Humberside. “He’s got a big strong body and he’s dangerous.
“He hasn’t had a lot of football, but what he’s done since coming back from injury has been nothing I expected.
“He got thrown in there due to some injuries…he’s got his chance and he hasn’t looked back.
“He was great again, he’s great to have around the group, he’s full of energy and the players love having him around.”
Hull FC are now preparing for a Good Friday derby at home to Hull KR, who suffered their first defeat of the year at the hands of Wigan Warriors on Friday, in one of the showpiece fixtures of Super League’s Rivals Round.
Along with being eager to make amends for the recent Betfred Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat to their cross-city rivals, a win would send the hosts top of the table.
“It’s going to be a great occasion, a great game and it’s one us boys are really excited for,” Litten, the cousin of Hull KR hooker Jez, said.
“They had a tough result again Wigan and they’re going to be coming for us and we’re going to be coming for them.”
“The biggest derby in Super League, a packed out MKM Stadium – it doesn’t get much better and we don’t need to talk it up.”
