WILLIE Peters was again left to rue missed opportunities as Hull KR’s unbeaten start to the 2025 season was ended by Wigan Warriors on Friday.
The Robins let slip a first-half lead in the Betfred Super League grand final rematch at Sewell Group Craven Park, going down 28-12 to the reigning champions.
It marked the third meeting in a row Wigan had got the better of Hull KR as they closed the gap to the leaders to just two points, on what was another one that got away as far as head coach Peters was concerned.

“The difference between the two teams is they do take their opportunities,” Peters told BBC Radio Humberside.
“They’re very good at taking their opportunities and that’s something we need to do.
“When there’s an opportunity there, because you don’t get many too often, you’ve got to take it.
“They’re the benchmark, aren’t they? We took them to the end, we were in it for large periods, we’ve been that the last three games and they’ve got us towards that back end. We’ll keep plugging away.”
Hull KR suffered another injury blow in the match after Michael McIlorum was forced off with a suspected torn bicep.
Peters is hopeful, however, that Man of Steel Mikey Lewis will be back for the Good Friday derby away to Hull FC after a groin injury kept him out of the defeat to Wigan.
The Robins did see some positives from Friday’s loss to take into derby week as well.
“That game could have gone either way, so our review will be exactly the same for that game,” Peters said.
“The main thing we look at is how the boys compete and what their effort is like and normally it’s a different kind of review if that’s not the case, but with this team, that’s what we pride ourselves on.
“We’ll be looking at some cause and effect stuff and moments in the game, but everything will be based around getting the boys ready for the derby.”
