Chris Hill lamented the struggles of former club Huddersfield Giants after Salford Red Devils eased to a 23-10 win on Thursday night.
The match-up of the only two teams left without a win in the Betfred Super League in 2025 saw the Red Devils give their home fans something to cheer about, while leaving the Giants rooted to the bottom of the table with five defeats from five.
Prop Hill, who joined Salford from Huddersfield over the winter, was delighted to get up and running in the league on the back of reaching the Betfred Challenge Cup quarter-finals, yet still had sympathy for his former clubmates.

“It’s nice to get one against your old team-mates, but I like to see Huddersfield doing well,” Hill told BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.
“I spent three happy years there and it was a lose-lose, really.”
The 37-year-old, playing the 566th game of his career, was on hand to provide an assist in the match, with his offload setting up Harvey Wilson for a try.
England international Hill was full of praise for the attitude shown by his team-mates as Salford’s own woes continue to rumble on in the background as well.
“We could only name 17 again this week, but everyone who puts their hands up is special,” Hill said.
“It’s the true character of the blokes of what we’ve been going through and it’s the same with the staff, with late payments and whatnot.
“People need to stand up when the poo hits the fan, and they have done.”
