The Sydney Roosters have held talks with Salford Red Devils about buying the struggling Super League club.
rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands the Roosters have been considering a purchase of the Red Devils for several weeks.
It is believed Roosters chairman Nick Politis has been in negotiations with the new ownership group.

The ownership group’s controversial two-month tenure of the club has been riddled with issues, financial problems, rising debts and delays.
The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper has reported today that if the NRL does take over Super League, the Roosters would be interested in buying out Salford and rebranding them as the Manchester Roosters.
A potential rebrand would be likely to come at the significant ire of current Salford fans.
The NRL club have already invested in the United States market and rebranded the LA Bandidos Rugby League Club as the LA Roosters.
With desperately-needed new investment into Salford from their new owners yet to arrive, it is believed Politis could wait several weeks and buy for the club for significantly less than what he has previously been offered.
Politis, the 83-year-old boss of the Roosters, is worth around $2.36 billion.
One of the Salford area’s greatest products, forward Adrian Morley, starred for the Roosters in the 2000s.
It is believed last year Wests Tigers showed some interest in a potential link-up or partnership with Salford.
