Abbas Miski was delighted to put a disrupted start to the 2025 Betfred Super League season behind him with two tries to help Wigan Warriors claim the Good Friday derby spoils.
The Lebanon international winger crossed twice along with with Jai Field as the Warriors downed old rivals St Helens in front of over 24,000 fans at The Brick Community Stadium.
It was only Miski’s fourth appearance of the season for the defending champions after aggravating an old knee injury which is set to require surgery later this year, but the 29-year-old was able to put that to the back of his mind.

“It’s been a bit of an odd season,” Miski told BBC Radio Five Live Sports Extra.
“I guess it comes with playing rugby league, but thankfully Matty [Peet, Wigan head coach] has a great coaching staff and a great physio staff.
“They could just put me on the sideline and forget about me, but they care about me a lot.
“It’s been tough, but I’m glad to be back now.”

The win moved Wigan up to second in the Super League standings, two points behind leaders Hull KR and two points clear of Saints, who remained fourth.
Miski’s double took his tally for the season to five tries and kept up his record of scoring in every game he has played for the Warriors so far this season.
“It was really special,” Miski said. “It was a great effort from the whole team as well.
“There were a couple of things we’ve got to fix up, but it’s Good Friday and you’ve got to bring physicality, and I thought we brought that.
“I’ve been fortunate to be in a lot of big games at this club and this is probably up there in the top three or four best games I’ve been in.”
Ahead of the match, Wigan announced the signing of rugby union winger Christian Wade until the end of the season once he has finished his commitments with Gallagher Premiership outfit Gloucester.
Miski is embracing that extra competition for one of the wide spots in the team.
“He’s obviously a great player and it’s good for the club, but it’s good for me as well,” Miski said.
“Competition always brings the best out of everyone.”
