MAN OF Steel Mikey Lewis revealed the offer of free breakfasts from local cafe was behind Sunday’s 30-0 shutout of Leigh.
Lewis also commented at fulltime that the Robins had “made a statement for the competition” and that was very much the impression neutrals were left with after watching the red and whites cruise home from 22-0 up at halftime.
Lewis scored two tries and booted five goals, telling Sky Sports: “Every time we get a zero we get breakfast for free in the cafe so we’re always chasing that every week.
“It’s two weeks on the bounce now. We’re really enjoying it. We’re really a defensively-focused team. We base our peformance on that.”
The win puts Hull KR three points clear at the top of the table.
