Keara Bennett is relishing a physical clash as England Women aim to prove themselves up to the task of facing world champions Australia.
The clash at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning back home marks the first time England have faced the Jillaroos since a 38-0 defeat in Sydney in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
Leeds Rhinos hooker Bennett was still five years away from making her Women’s Super League debut the last time England faced off with their old rivals and she is excited to take them on as part of the four-match showcase in front of an expected crowd of around 50,000.

“I love physical games and everyone is hyped up for it because of the whole perception of it,” Bennett said.
“I think it’s going to be one of those game where we can go out and prove a point.
“They’re the world champs and I think there is a lot of focus on them, but it’s a historical game for women, especially in rugby league.
“To put the game on that platform, we deserve this opportunity and we’ve worked so hard.”
England’s trip to Vegas has seen them front and centre during the build-up with their Australian counterparts, plus the six men’s Betfred Super League and NRL sides taking part in this year’s rugby league showcase.
Attending a signing session on Thursday with over 10,000 fans seeking to meet players from all of the teams involved brought home just how big an event this is.
After all the build-up though, York Valkyrie back Tamzin Renouf cannot wait to get out on the field to test herself against the world’s best.
“I can’t wait to be on the biggest stage I’ve ever been and face the world champions, because we’re ready,” Renouf said.
“It’s massive. It allows the women’s game to get out there on the big stage.
“It just shows everything we’re doing behind the scenes and all of us are working so hard, it’s finally paying off. It’s so nice to see the girls are getting the recognition they deserve.”
