Hull KR boss Willie Peters praised his players and the occasion after his team’s historic Easter derby delight.
The Robins ran in seven tries to none to hand Hull FC their biggest-ever derby loss.
“I enjoyed it,” Peters said.
“There was periods in the first half where we made it hard for ourselves. But I loved the zero the most at the end of the game. There was a lot of toughness and resilience in that game today.
“I was pleased with what we did defensively.”
Hull KR halves Mikey Lewis and Jordan Abdull were impressive, with Lewis scoring a try and Abdull setting up several four-pointers.
“I thought it was Mikey’s best game,” Peters said.
“There’s no surprise with that in a derby game. Jordan’s game is building nicely.
“He’s had a strong pre-season and taken it into the first part of the year. Both of them have growth.”
Peters admitted the passion and emotion involved in the occasion was “eye-opening”.
“I’m really proud of the club, the way we handled the week,” he said.
“We had people in tears. That’s how much it means. It was an eye-opener for me.
“The atmosphere was electric… it was loud and your hair stood up. We’re going to enjoy today.
“But we’re not going to get carried away.”
Peters revealed captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall suffered a rib injury in the first half but continued to play on and finished the game.
