Parcell keen to continue Super League stay

BY JOHN DAVIDSON

Exclusive: Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell is keen to stay in Super League next year as his contract at the Robins comes to an end.

Parcell has been linked with a potential return to the NRL in 2023, but rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands the Australian is open to staying in England.

It is believed Parcell is considering all of his options, and has loved his time in the UK.

The 29-year-old is currently in talks with Hull KR over a new deal, but has not ruled out potentially joining another Super League side.

The forward first moved to Leeds in 2017 from Manly, winning a Super League title with the Rhinos in his first season.

He joined the Robins in 2019 on loan, before making the move permanent in 2020.

Parcell has thrived in east Yorkshire and helped the club reach the semi-finals last season.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands the hooker is after a two-year contract, and there is no truth to reports of interest from the Dolphins.

This year Parcell has scored two tries in nine Super League appearances. He has also notched two try assists and is averaging 3.4 tackle busts and 32.2 tackles per game.
