Fui: NRL Stars Want To Join Me In Toronto

By STEVE MASCORD

FUIFUI Moi Moi says NRL stars have asked him about the Toronto Wolfpack in the hope of getting a start with the club – and he’s helping hook them up.
The 37-year-old cult figure scored a hat-trick as the Canadian franchise made it’s National League One debut in London on Saturday, winning 76-0.
That’s despite MoiMoi having been sent off the previous Sunday in the Challenge Cup; under British rules he is allowed to play on until his hearing.
“I’d love a few of my old mates, a few players from back home, to join us next season,” MoiMoi tells Rugby League Week.
“A few of the boys, I’ve been talking to about it. They are looking forward to (being part of) the challenge for the next couple of years.
“It’s a good set-up here. Rowls (coach Paul Rowley) and his staff have set up a family. I’m very excited to go there (to Toronto). I can’t wait.”
The Wolfpack have a clutch of home games in May. Rowley says MoiMoi shouldn’t be suspended for a high shot against amateur side Siddal – because it will affect the gate!
“Someone like Fui is box office,” Rowley tells RLW. “The grading’s wrong … to take him away, it will take people off the gate so it’s going to hurt everybody.”
